We also are suited for manual assembly of flats and odd sized pieces.

Our staff use tabbing machines in-line and off-line to seal mailers, apply stamps, or to label prior to inkjet.

The Postal Service runs mail through machines utilizing belts and pulleys at high speeds. Self-mailers will be shredded in this environment without proper tabbing. Therefore, to obtain automation rates for self-mailers (letter size) they must be sealed by tabs.

We stock several types of tabs for most applications.

Metering is the application of live postage onto a mail piece based upon weight and class. We accurately handle posting of mail for multiple high volume clients using a digital accounting system.

Laser letters, self-mailers, newsletters, and marketing materials must be accurately folded prior to machine inserting or tabbing for postage discounts. We also provide scoring and perforating on the fly. We use several types of folders. For most runs we operate continuous and pile feed floor folders. We also offer pressure seal folding.

For expedited shipments aside from the United States Postal Service, we offer all FedEx services.

We assemble and ship marketing materials to ship, mail, or distribute interoffice. All materials stored in inventory for fulfillment remain in our temperature controlled warehouse.

We manage drop shipment loads via third party delivery. Rates are based on weight and distance determined at the time of mailing.

We have a fleet of trucks locally and courteous drivers to provide pick-up and delivery services. Call (205) 841-7678 to schedule a pick-up. Fees are based on distance and size of load.

The USPS offers lower postage rates for both Standard and Periodicals mail to encourage mailers to move the mail closer to the point of delivery. Drop shipment refers to trucking and entering mail at postal sorting facilities closer to its final destination. We regularly prepare mailings at FlexDigital for such savings. Typically, we analyze your data for the potential savings versus the cost of trucking. Many of our customers choose drop shipment for the time it can save in delivery.

There are three destination entry discounts for Standard mail: the Destination Delivery Unit (DDU) discount, the Bulk Mail Center (BMC) discount and the Sectional Center Facility (SCF) discount. Although the DDU is the largest discount available, it's available only in very specific high-density carrier-route mailings; consequently, we tend to focus instead on the BMC and SCF discounts.

Due to the large daily volume of mail we process at FlexDigital, the USPS provides complete mail acceptance services on-site in our facility Monday through Friday. We stage, present, pay and undergo strict quality control via postal inspection and the use of MERLIN(TM). In fact, we were the first private install of MERLIN(TM) in the state of Alabama, and have an exemplary relationship with the US Postal Service.
